How I can clean my Fountain Pens from the inside?

I have a Cross Pen and a Waterman Phileas pen, both of which do not appear to write when I put in a new ink cartridge. I think it could be because there are too clogged ink there. Anyone know of an easy way to clean these? Vi a tip that said to soak them in olive oil but I prefer not to try that one because it is very hard to get anything oil. Or is there someone or some place that can feathers make for a professional cleaning? Thanks for the replies. I have a couple of questions: 1. What is a piston converter and where I can find one? (I am a very novice pen collector too). 2. I found an ultrasonic cleaner, but it's for jewelry. Does that work? 3. Does anyone know of professional cleaners that are not too expensive that you can recommend?

Hello, This is a very common problem, especially if you only use Ink Cartridges and cartridge converters. It is normal for used ink tanks between the tip and feed to build up over time and eventually limit the flow of ink to a sudden halt. No fun. I always suggest (especially when changing ink marks or colors) to their pen and feeding in cold water using a piston converter Cartridge. These are relatively inexpensive and easy to find. You should flush your pens every 30 days at least. (I recommend every refill other more or less). And be sure using only cold water. If the obstruction is extreme, then wash it before the drive, Sale of the pen in a glass of cold water and let soak the tip and feed for 24 hours. Be sure not to drink water in other parts of the pencil, just enough water in the glass to soak the whole seed. Then after 24 hours give a rinse with cold running tap water (which protects the body from the pen of water with a cloth) for 10 seconds. Now proceed to rinse the tip and the converter-fed Piston with cold water. Repeat washing until no signs of obstruction or ink tanks age. Be sure to let your pen and dry food out for a hours or use a can of air to remove any moisture around the tip of the nipple before feeding and return to their pen. In really extreme cases of obstruction You can use a mixture of ammonia diluted with water to soak and wash with – but I recommend a professional to do this or if you decide yourself then be careful. Another solution is to immerse the pen in an Ultra-Sonic machine. I have one I use and it really does an excellent job. Again, extreme caution should be used with these methods, as you can really ruin a good pen if You Are not careful.
