What size road bike should I start with?
I am looking into buying a road bike, and I don’t mind buying a used (nice) one. I have been mountain biking for some time, and I ride a 17″ Gary Fisher. But I’m not familiar w/ the road side of things, so I want to get an idea of what to start with. I got professionally fitted for my mountain bike, but I bought it in Jacksonville. There really isn’t much selection here when it comes to good bike shops. I’m 5′4″ with about a 27″ inseam.
Any ideas would be great!
There are so many different ways of sizing bikes, I would recommend going to a shop and trying a couple out. They usually have a range of sizes, even if it’s not the exact bike you’re after.
Road biking can give you sore knees or back really easily so make sure you get the right size and set up or you’ll never feel like riding!
