Parker Pens, now owned by Newell Rubbermaid, got its start in Janesville, Wisconsin in 1888 with founder George Safford Parker at the helm. Today you will find several Parker Pen Collections available, including the Premier, Parker Sonnet Pen, Duofold, Espirit, Executive, Facet and Duofold Lucky Eight collections. Offered in a range of prices and styles, there is likely a Parker pen suitable for any writing situation and budget.
The Parker Pens Premier Collection features Quality Pens in a variety of lacquer colors on the barrel, as well as metal variations in trim. You can choose from Black Lacquer with silver or Gold Trim, as well as a silver barrel and a Deluxe version that comes with a black barrel and chiseled cap featuring a tartan design. This collection of pens is available as a Parker Rollerball Pen, a Parker Ballpoint pen, or as a Parker Fountain Pen.
Color is introduced in the lacquer finishes used for the Parker Sonnet Pen Collection. Several of the Parker Pens in this collection feature chiseled lacquer in the barrel finish, giving a distinctive look to this group. The Sonnet Cisele offers eighteen-Karat Gold in the two-tone criss-cross pattern nib in the fountain pen style, and the aforementioned chisel lines, but this time with black lacquer lines and trim crafted from twenty-three karat Gold Plate. The Sonnet Deep Lacquer offers barrel finishes in silver or gold, or in brilliant lacquer colors that include black, red and blue.
For a classic Parker Pen, the Parker Duofold Collection has the timeless elegance that you want. This line of pens was introduced to the public in 1921, and it retains several of the hallmarks that make this an outstanding Writing Pen. Beautiful barrel finishes, including a distinctive check pattern in Your Choice of amber, blue or green, or the Pearl with black veining option topped with sleek twenty-three karat Champagne Gold plate, give you tasteful options in high-quality writing instruments.
In general, you will find the best value in Parker Ballpoint Pens, while Parker Fountain Pens are the most expensive in a collection line, and a Parker Rollerball pen will be available at a price somewhere between that of the ballpoint and fountain pens. Parker ballpoint pens make a great introduction to a quality pen line, and one that is affordable.
