How I can get Blue Pen marks on a white leather sofa?
I have a white leather sofa and realized just blue pen marks in the middle of the table. How I can get out? please help.
old wives' tales are a major cause of most of the repairs technicians out to repair leather and lacquer and solvents are the most common. Taking note of these untested / old wives tales unproven can cost a lot money if things go wrong. Just noticed a very expensive jacket that had been virtually in ruins with hairspray to remove ink. Do not remove the ink and left a much worse problem to solve. Please do not rub with anything, as this is almost sure to remove the finish on the skin and this will be costly to rectify. Most products for the removal of ink will not work, simply because of the length of time the ink has been on the skin. Ink is a dye and color has become the skin (this is what it purports to do) The longer the ink that has been in the leather is more difficult to remove because it is absorbed into the finish. Once that has been soaked in the finish you have to use Very Strong products to remove it, also remove the finish and pigment which then need replacing. Pigment / Protected leather If the ink is on a pigmented leather then the first thing to try is an LTT ink gel. http://www.lttsolutions.net/leather-ink-remover.asp The fresher the ink the more likely you remove it. It's a good idea to have one in your home if you have pale skin and children! Old ink will be harder to remove than new ink and may mean resorting to solvents which will also remove the finish. This is probably best left to the experts if a Gel Ink will not work a solvent based remover will need to be used and can also remove finish and pigment so is best left to experts. You must also use LTT Leather Protect on your suite. This will act as one of Scotchgard and setbacks make everything easier to clean. You will see many people recommending household products to remove ink – this is not recommended as most simply do not work, some may appear to work but damage which can cause a much bigger problem which is then des-repairable (even by a technician) DO NOT USE THE FOLLOWING: Hairspray – This is very risky because it can make the matter worse by spreading the ink over a wider area and can sometimes then be impossible to solve. Varnish remover / solvents will remove the finish on the skin even if you can not do and say is this, then you have to replace, and alcohol can make the same in terms of the strength of the finish on the skin. Baby wipes – just about the worst thing you can use on a leather as they break down the goal and eventually ruin him. Milk or Toothpaste – these are just silly ideas that leave sticky residue on the surface which will help break the finishing of leather. Silicones / furniture polish – no be used in the leather. They form a layer on the surface of the skin that will not allow moisture to reach the leather itself and eventually break all the finish down and cracking. Hide food will not remove ink and will leave residues on the skin attracts dirt and oils more. leather cleaners will not remove ink unless a Very Good leather protector has been used regularly. Magic sponges or erasers (Sr., Clean Magic Erasers). These have been tested by experts in the leather industry and have found to do much damage to certain types of finish on the leather. Style aniline leather as aniline leather style are largely absorbent it means that the ink will have soaked straight into the skin. This makes it impossible to remove. No product to successfully remove the ink. Do NOT try ink removing products on aniline style leathers as most leave a greasy residue that will cause another problem later. Because aniline style leather are absorbent the ink will lead the movement through the skin and can become less evident with time. Cleaning and protecting will also help to dissipate over time.
