How can I find out if old stock certificates have any value?

I purchased an estate that had in it a number of stock certificates issued in the early 1900′s for various mining and oil company stocks. I would like to learn if they still retain any value. Thanks

Talk to a lawyer or write to the companies. Just be careful you don’t get swindled.
