Restoring the finish on a matte black desk?

My computer desk is matte black with grey accents. I’ve been using it for a couple years now, and the spot where my mouse goes is starting to fade out(rather than black, it’s dark grey). I was thinking about picking up a bottle of turtle wax, but that might not be a good idea.

So anyways, what should I buy to touch up the finish?.
I would just get a new desk, but black desks are expensive and hard to come by.

Turtle wax will not restore the black finish that has worn off. Maybe you need to repaint the entire surface of the top of the desk so it is all black again.

In any event, you can cover the worn area with a mouse pad or once it is repainted, you could begin to use a mouse pad to avoid the finish from wearing out again.
