Is it possible to make a glaze of a homemade ornament hand made in clay that is flour and water?

If so, how do you do? I an ornament to hang on my wall daughters has his hand on muddy footprints I made (the type of standard that people make with flour, water and salt.), but I want to give it a more finish. Any ideas?
