Help! I think i have fungus on my nail (thumb) I have gel tips on and i’ve had them on since feb i’ve been
getting refills. Two weeks ago i noticed my nail was half white. The lady doing my nails said it was nothing. Even my nail that hangs off the skin is white. Im going to the place to get them soaked off this weekend and i wanted to get an acrylic manicure so my nails will be nice and hard, will i still be able to do this? Also today my nail got stuck on my bookbag and it pulled now theres a little red “blood” spot on my real nail it hurts so much! What should i do about the fungus? Do i need to go to the doctor? HELP PLEASE!
Take off the tips until the infection clears. You will have to use an over the counter nail fungus medicine until the entire nail grows out and hope it doesn’t spread. Skip the acrylic manicure. They can still lift away from the nail. Drink Knox gelatin for nails. it makes them grow really fast.
How Do I Remove My Lcn Gel Nails?
LCN stands for Light Concept Nails which are professional nail enhancements that are made out of a gel resin composed of a premixed polymer and monomer. In the past women with problem nails have had to resort to gluing on synthetic nails which can damage the existing nail underneath and can also be very fake-looking. However, the revolutionary light technology involved with fitting LCN gels allows the blending of the synthetic nail with the natural nail. LCN gels have been subjected to rigorous testing and research so that you can be 100% confident that they are both toxicologically and dermatological safe.
LCN gels don’t use any aggressive primers or activators and there are no fumes or odours emitted during the application process. The nails also don’t cause any discolouration to the existing nail like some other artificial nails can do. The LCN gels are extremely flexible and can bend easily with the natural nail making them feel as natural as possible. Gel nails are a safer and more efficient alternative to acrylics and as they are made of a gel-like lightly cured resin they are a more natural looking alternative. You should expect to have your nails refilled every 2 to 4 weeks to maintain beautiful looking strong nails.
When you do decide to remove the nails the removal process is relatively simple but should always be performed by a professional nail technician as you may damage the nail underneath if you attempt to do it yourself. If you try and peel the nails of yourself then you may also remove the upper nail plate layers. The gel is a “buff off” gel, which means that it must be filed away. It is not advisable to attempt to file the gels off as you will probably not know when to stop filing and you could damage the surface of your real nails. The damage that you could inflict on your nails could take up to a couple of months to grow out.
It is worth noting that the gel nails cannot usually be soaked off in pure acetone. Even if you attempt this it could take an hour or more and even then there is no guarantee that you will be successful. The gel used in LCN gels is created to be non-porous and are less prone to lifting than acrylics and because of this they are much more durable. This why LCN gels are a popular alternative to acrylics because of their durability but this does mean that they are not removed easily without a trip to the salon. You can just revisit the salon that applied them for you to get them removed and they will be done in a safe and efficient way.
