Black double breasted cashmere jacket with Navy Blue pants and black shoes?

I’ve heard you aren’t supposed to wear navy blue with black, but what if the materials are so different that they’re obviously different colors?

I think blue and black can work together nicely, as long as it looks like you combined the pieces on purpose and they compliment each other. Since black and navy are both neutrals it’s definitely possible to wear them together.
