Blue Refill
blue smoke and oil burning in my 92 N/A MR2?
I recently bought a MR2 from a private buyer. He said the compression and leakdown tests were solid but the problem was that the engine was burning oil, so whenever i drive for long distances i already have a gallon of oil ready to refill.
Blue smoke would be present in the exhaust pipe
I have to keep refill oil due to the oil burning and there are no signs of leaks
the oil is always black (even when refilling)
no loss of coolant
engine does not overheat
I checked the radiator neck and revved it and no signs of bubbles so it can’t be a blown head gasket.
i have 160,000 miles on this vehicle
what can be the problem??
He said is a bad sign. But let’s say it’s true: Is the Cat still on it? Is it a turbo model? Leaking valve stem seals may make you’re cars compression seem better than it really is because they’re coating the rings with oil. If everything else is good and it’s a non turbo car I would start with the valve seals and if it’s a turbo car; turbo seals. That is all if he told you the truth. It’s a turbo car isn’t it?
